Jack Pumpkinhead

Jack Pumpkinhead is the world’s longest living practical joke. He was constructed (amazingly well, all things considered) from firewood, sticks, rags and a pumpkin by the boy, Tip, and placed in the road in order to frighten Tip’s mistress, the witch Mombi. After a brief scare, Mombi saw the construct as a chance to test a formula that she had just purchased. She sprinkled the Powder of Life upon the thing and Jack came to life. He accompanied Tip when the boy ran away from Mombi.

Currently Jack lives in a pumpkin patch outside the Emerald City. His heads, being a real pumpkins, spoil after a few months and need replacing. Jack isn’t very bright to begin with and having his head go soft on a regular basis doesn’t help.
